I, Jennifer Louise Laahs (oh no, I put my full name on t'internet! Now I am going to get abducted by a paedophile who will first rape me, then pull out my gut through my ears and wear it as an attractive belt) have discovered a Thing. I am sure many of you will recall a band called "The Killers", who are widely established as winners of the prestigious Hey, Who Cares If All Our Songs Are The Same And Lack Imagination And Flair, Lets Become The Most Overplayed Band In Recent History Anyway award thanks to every ape-descendant in touch with popular culture, me included, worshipping their left socks. I am also fully positive that you will remember a certain mind-numbing, spirit crushing (Ok, so I stole that from Choose Life) but still immensly popular due to a catchy tune single they released, twice if my memory serves, named "Mr. Brightside".

I also feel that many of you will be shocked to hear that the characteristic riff which begins this song is, in fact, stolen.
And it gets better! It is not stolen from an anonymous songwriter, nor is it a school pupils music project, nor is it stolen from an ice cream van, but it is stolen from someone in the very underbelly of musical society, someone who is scorned by every community, long forgotten by the masses, but who keeps trying to achieve stardom...it's none other than Gavin's very own, Livin La Vida Loca-ing, She Bangs-ing, Ricky Martin. It's true!

P.S. Contrary to what this blog may suggest, I do not loathe The Killers with every inch of my being. I just think they are overplayed and slightly repetitive, though I do like them a bit and will willingly admit to being part of the masses and owning their album.
